All first-year candidates for admission must submit a completed application by the established deadline. Stonehill is an exclusive user of the Common Application. Candidates must also submit an official high school transcript, a completed Secondary School Report/Counselor Recommendation, one teacher Evaluation Form, and a $60.00 application fee. The submission of standardized test scores (SAT or ACT) is optional. Any application for the fall semester received after the January 15 th deadline will be reviewed on a space available basis. Spring semester first-year candidate applications must be submitted by November 1 st .
The high school requirements are such that the curriculum must meet both the general requirements of a college preparatory program and the particular requirements of Stonehill College. Most successful applicants have prepared for the rigors of Stonehill by taking a demanding college preparatory program in high school including: 4 units of English; 4 units of mathematics; 3 units of science; 3 units of foreign language; and 4 combined units of history, political science, and social sciences. In addition to these units, 2 academic elective subjects should be taken.
Although Stonehill College is test optional, students are encouraged to submit SAT or ACT scores if they believe the scores will be valuable supporting information to the review process. Information concerning their respective testing organizations can be obtained on-line at www.collegeboard.com or at www.act.org. The Stonehill College code numbers are 3770 (SAT) and 1918 (ACT).
A student’s application cannot be acted upon until the Committee on Admission receives the official high school transcript including grades for 9, 10 and 11 for early action and early decision candidates and the first semester of 12 th grade for regular decision candidates.
The Early Decision Plan is an early binding program intended for the student for whom Stonehill is their first-choice school. Under the Early Decision Plan, students are permitted to apply for regular admission to other institutions, but may apply to only one institution for Early Decision. If admitted to Stonehill, students agree to enroll, submit a non-refundable $750.00 commitment deposit by January 15 th , and withdraw all other applications. Applicants not admitted for Early Decision will be denied or deferred to the Regular Decision Plan. To be considered for financial assistance, file the College Scholarship Service (CSS) PROFILE form by December 15 th . File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) no earlier than January 1 st and no later than February 1 st . As a financial aid candidate, students are not required to submit an enrollment deposit until the receipt of their financial aid award.

Stonehill offers the opportunity for an accepted first-year candidate to postpone attendance for one or two semesters. A student who wishes to defer admission must request this in writing and explain the reason(s) for the deferral to the Dean of Admission and Enrollment, Stonehill College, 320 Washington Street, Easton, MA 02357-5610. Only candidates who have submitted the $750.00 non-refundable deposit may seek a deferral. Campus housing and financial assistance may not be guaranteed. Deferment is nullified if a student attends another college in the interim. A candidate who decides to participate in college credit courses while deferred can apply to Stonehill as a transfer applicant.
Stonehill participates in the AP and IB programs and will grant advanced credits to students who have taken the Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate examinations while in high school. (Refer here for Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate detailed information.)

Massasoit Community College students who transfer to Stonehill College under the Dual-Degree Transfer Agreement can apply up to 60 Massasoit credits toward a bachelor’s degree from Stonehill-as long as a grade of C or higher is earned in each course. Students who enroll at Stonehill prior to completing all their coursework toward a degree at Massasoit will be able to transfer the credits back to Massasoit to be applied towards the requirements for an associates degree.
Additionally, Massasoit students with an overall GPA of 3.50 or higher who transfer to Stonehill under the Dual-Degree Transfer Agreement will be eligible to receive a $10,000.00 Massasoit Transfer Scholarship.
Transfer credit is only granted for college-level, credit-bearing courses taken at other institutions whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), regardless of delivery method (e.g. on-line courses, hybrid courses, MOOCs, etc.). Credits may also be awarded through the College Board Advanced Placement Exam Program, International Baccalaureate Program or through approved abroad programs.
Credit will only be granted for courses in which the student has received the equivalent of a grade of “C” or better. An earned grade of “C-” or below will not transfer. However, since Stonehill lecture/lab courses are graded with a single grade, transfer lecture/lab courses for which each component is graded separately may be accepted even if one of the grades is lower than a “C” if the weighted combined average grade is equivalent to a “C” (2.00 at Stonehill) or better. Pass/Fail courses will only be accepted in transfer if the official transcript indicates that a passing grade is the equivalent of a “C” or better.
Only credits hours are transferred. Transfer grades are not recorded on the Stonehill transcript and are not included in the computation of the cumulative grade-point-average. Credits transferred in from quarter hour, trimester, or other non-semester hour institutions may be adjusted to make them equivalent to a Stonehill semester-hour credit.
Transfer students with first‐year standing (fewer than 25 credits) must complete all General Education requirements, with the exception of those fulfilled through approved transferred courses.
Transfer students with sophomore standing (transferring in 25-55.9 credits) are exempt from the First-Year Seminar requirement but must complete all other General Education requirements, with the exception of those fulfilled through approved transferred courses.
Transfer students with junior standing (transferring between 56-62 credits) are exempt from the First-Year Seminar and Learning Community requirements but must complete all other General Education requirements, with the exception of those fulfilled through approved transferred courses.
Since students must complete at least 62 credits at Stonehill, a student may not transfer in at a level higher than junior standing.
Transfer credits may be granted for coursework completed as part of advanced or occupational military training that is comparable in nature and content to courses and credits offered through Stonehill College programs. Credits earned for Basic Training are not transferable. Students wishing to transfer in credits for military courses must provide Stonehill with an official college transcript from an accredited institution of higher education or from The American Council on Education (ACE).

Upon admission to Stonehill a student will receive a preliminary evaluation of transferable credit. Once the student has committed to Stonehill College a more comprehensive evaluation will be forwarded to the student.
Transfer students may be asked to submit course syllabi to ensure the appropriate evaluation of courses. Final articulation of transfer credits in a major or minor sequence and in the Cornerstone Program is determined by the Associate Registrar in consultation with the appropriate academic department.
In order to qualify for a Stonehill degree, a transfer student is required to complete at least 62 credits at Stonehill College, with their final two semesters taken at Stonehill or in a Stonehill sponsored program. At least 50% of courses required by the Stonehill General Education Cornerstone Program, a major, or minor must also be taken in residency at Stonehill or through a Stonehill sponsored program. Individual academic departments may further restrict which major or minor courses may be transferred into Stonehill College.
Applicants who are not U.S. citizens or Permanent Residents of the United States should submit the following items by January 15 th for the fall semester or November 1 st for the spring semester:
